P.E.A.C.E. Inc. provides services to survivors of homicide victims and other victims of violence. We offer various program to assist and empower survivors of homicide victims to rebuild their lives through support groups, workshops, community outreach, and victim advocacy.

A small group of concerned citizens established a series of meetings with Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark for assistance in establishing a process to assure the transfer of information of the status of the investigation to families of homicide victims. Parents Encouraging Accountability and Closure for Everyone was created as an advocacy group for families of homicide victims.

P.E.A.C.E., Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is announcing our upcoming conference, The Cost of Gun Violence, where we invite you to join us in addressing the impact of death by gun violence on our communities.

Death by gun violence is a critical public health issue.

Out of every ten deaths, six are suicides by guns.

Every day, 68 deaths occur by firearm.

In one year alone, 49,000 deaths caused by firearms took place in the U.S.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our affected communities, P.E.A.C.E., Inc. is hosting a two-day conference to bring together professionals, researchers, practitioners, community agencies, healthcare and justice personnel, students, victims, survivors, and advocates to address the far-reaching impact of gun violence collectively.

Statistics

From 2008 to 2021, there were 709 homicides in the City of Buffalo, an average of 55 homicides per year. In 2021, there were 67 homicides in the City of Buffalo.

Our Programs

  • The mission of P.E.A.C.E. youth program is to provide youth and young adults with the life skills and information they need to make informed decisions, promote healing, cope with grief & loss and prevent aggression.

  • PEACE adult support groups are offered to anyone who has lost a family member or friend to murder. The peer support group will walk you through the painful process of grief. People with a common bond share their stories of hope and rebuilding life after a violent death.

  • Offers guidance, education, community meetings, workshops, seminars and referrals to additional services and support.

  • Peace has partnered with the Pajama program, whose mission is to promote and support a comforting bedtime routine and healthy sleep for all children to help them thrive. www.pajamaprogram.org.
